One of the challenges not only in yoga class, but in life, is to let go of the thoughts bombarding us and still the mind. Worrying doesn’t usually help us on our path. It tends to prevent us from enjoying the journey, from being present, from feeling what needs to be felt right here, right now.
Be a warrior! Ignore the other people in yoga class and allow yourself a moment of true presence. Clear the thoughts in your mind and feel the strength in warrior pose. Breathe with intention, deliberately, deeply. And then step off your mat and face life head on! Instead of worrying about life’s problems, tackle them. Ask yourself if there is anything you can do to make this problem go away or improve the circumstance. If there is take the necessary steps to free yourself of the problem. If there isn’t anything that you can personally do can you let it go? Can you change your perception to see the blessing instead of the problem? Can you look at your expectations and ask yourself if they’re realistic? Can you channel the worry into something creative like writing, painting or some other endeavor? Can you meditate to clear your mind or change your focus?
