yoga halifax, halifax yogaWith a varied background that includes coaching and mentoring, fundraising, management and fitness, Reena has a sometimes unique and very honest view of the human experience. The road to wellness has sometimes been long and difficult but even through the hiccups along the way, the underlying theme is one of inspiration.

Reena has been practicing yoga for the past 15 years and is a certified and registered yoga teacher and practitioner of Thai Yoga Massage. She was  certified as a yoga siromani (teacher of yoga) through the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Camp in Val Morin, Quebec in 2011. Since that time she has been teaching classes to all levels of participants. Reena believes that all levels can join in the same class, taking whatever versions of poses that are most appropriate to them. By practicing ahimsa (non-harming) and vairagya (detachment) participants are able to make the class their own.

Reena has taken levels one through four of Thai Yoga Massage through the the Lotus Palm School in Montreal and has received the second of three certifications. She has also completed the Advanced Trigger Point Therapy Techniques Course and is certified at the silver level (Neil Asher Technique).

Reena also has taken levels 1 and 2 of Reiki; three levels of Spiritual and Psychic Development through the Spiritual Science Fellowship and also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. She also holds diplomas in coaching and mentoring as well as business administration. Spirituality plays an important part of her life. She speaks on various topics in goal setting, spirituality and yoga.

Reena is a member of the Canadian Yoga Alliance and the Massage Therapists and Wholistic Practitioners Association of the Maritimes.

The newest addition to Reena’s education is that if a Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP) Practitioner. NLP aims to coach individuals through achievement of goals through guidance and coaching.

  1. Hi Reena. Here is my email address. I enjoy your classes and approach to yoga. I know yoga should be more then good workouts, but the more I do, I think the more of the calming side I acquire also.
